Assessment and Evaluation
Another area of growth for me has been my approach to assessment and evaluation. The third course in the Durham College Teaching Certificate program explored various assessment and evaluation approaches, strategies, and tools to support student learning. The first assignment in this course required you to not only create two formative assessment activities (one with the use of technology and one without) for a course you teach, but to also explain how the assessment linked to course learning outcomes and provided opportunities for the development of one or more of the Essential Employability Skills in the course. This assignment reinforced to me the value of alignment - to ensure that all assessments, whether summative or formative, were purposeful. Link on the documents below to view my two formative assessment activities and my reflection regarding this excercise.
